Chinook’s at Salmon Bay

Fisherman's Terminal

Here’s an insider’s restaurant frequented mostly by locals.  More “salty” than touristy this dynamic view eatery is located in Seattle’s Fishermen’s Terminal near Ballard.

IMG_7850[1]_600Since 1913 Chinook’s has been looking out over the North Pacific fishing fleet  where over 700 commercial fishing vessels call the working marina home.

IMG_7841[1]_600The menu is seafood focused (all fresh caught except for farm-raised trout) and moderately priced.  Lunch per person about $30.  Dinner will be more like $50 per person.  Fine for singles, couples, family or date night.  Professional service.  Great wine, spirits and soft beverages menu.

Seating is taken on a walk-in basis.

Outside view dining is available during the warm weather months.

IMG_7855[1]_600If your style is more relaxed or you want to spend less money  a smaller limited menu and “To Go” style service is available at Little Chinook’s in the plaza area next to the restaurant. Eat inside at tables or go outside and enjoy the wharf seating.

IMG_7854[1]_600After you’re done, take a brief walk around the marina.  You can send fish home to your family around the US, have a beer at one of the smaller pubs or bring your bike and take a ride on the canal bike route.
